With the onset of the 2021 tax season (for tax year 2020) and COVID-19 variants still a threat, we have implemented some necessary changes to the way we conduct business that we'd like you to know about.

In an effort to keep both clients and staff safe and healthy, we are limiting face-to-face meetings to only those that are absolutely necessary this year. If you feel that you must meet with us in-person, please call or email us; the decision to schedule a meeting will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

For all other clients, we will be conducting business by mail, DropBox, telephone conference and/or Zoom.

How It Will Work

1. This year we will be mailing out tax organizers to all clients. If you haven't received yours yet, please email us to be sure there's been no oversight. Once yours has been received, please complete it thoroughly and to the best of your ability. If you have questions, we ask that you make note of and hold them until we have a chance to go over your completed information with you.

2. Once you've completed your tax organizer, we ask that you send it to us along with your tax documents by USPS Priority Mail to allow for tracking (our mailing address can be found here). Alternatively, you can send us a secure link to access your documents using the free encrypted file hosting and transfer service DropBox (you can sign up for your free account at https://www.dropbox.com/register ). If you would like to go over your tax info with us once we've received it, please either send a note along with your documents, email or call us and we'll be happy to schedule a meeting by phone or Zoom to do so.

** If sending your tax documents by mail, we ask that you keep a copy of the items sent for your records. **

3. Once we have completed your tax returns, copies will be mailed to you via USPS Priority Mail. We will be in touch by phone or email to let you know they're on their way and what amount of tax will be due by you, or refunded to you.

Please remember - there will be an e-file authorization form included in your tax envelope that will need to be signed, dated and returned to us asap so that we can e-file your federal return for you with the IRS.

Other Important Information

All in-person meetings for the 2021 tax season will be held in our Brunswick office, by appointment only. You can expect that we will wear a face covering for the entirety of the meeting and ask that you do the same.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during these trying times. Should you have any questions about the information found here, please don't hesitate to contact us.
